Monument
Sunday 3rd April
Today Sally and I visited Monument which is a huge shrine which is a dedication to all the loss and destruction which occured after the Great Fire which started in a bakers house in Pudding Lane on Sunday 2nd September in 1666 and extinguished on Wednesday the 5th. The fire damaged mostly buildings including churches and houses and streets. The momument is 202 feet high which is the same ratio to how far the fire spread. There are 311 steps leading to a viewing platform which is an awesome view of the entire city. We both got certificates that confirm we climbed all the stairs and left feeling very proud of ourselves.

Hi Em - What a lot of stairs to climb - I would never have made it with my leg problem - Good to get a certificate at the end though !!
